It started in a garage. In 1982, brothers John and David Burke launched Knox Motor Trimming from John's home in Melbourne's east. Within a year, word spread and the garage wasn't big enough. By 1987 they had their first factory, and Knox Auto Carpets was born.
The brothers didn't just make carpets — they raced cars. John built the engines, David drove, and their Knox-branded XD Falcon took out the Australian drag racing championship in 1992 at Calder Park. That same obsession with precision and performance went straight into every carpet they made.
